This year has been off to an interesting start to say the least, but things are looking up for the Cannabis Industry as more states legalize marijuana. Innovations in cannabis tech and cannabis genetics have never been more pervasive–and we’re excited about all the new or improved strains that have surfaced as a result. Here are the top three cannabis strains we’re excited about in 2017.

Kosher Kush
Kosher Kush isn’t new to the cannabis scene, but it’s an often overlooked strain that deserves your attention this year. Kosher Kush originated in Los Angeles, and was the winner of High Times Cannabis Cup’s Best Indica (2010) and Best Strain (2011). What makes this strain so special? Kosher Kush has astonishingly high levels of THC and a very strong scent. Some strain samples tested at over 29% THC–which is impressive for cannabis flower. Not only is Kosher Kush potent, but it’s known to be one of the tastiest strains around with a memorable earth and fruit flavor. Strains like Kosher Kush are used to reduce pain, increase relaxation, and treat insomnia.

Cornbread
Cornbread is another cannabis strain that deserves your attention this year. It’s an indica-dominant hybrid strain bred from the genetics of Rare Darkness #2 and Katsu Bubba Kush. This highly underrated strain has a sweet citrus taste and aroma. Cornbread will relax your body and mind, but not your stomach. Be sure to have snacks on hand because Cornbread will bolster your appetite and leave you ravenous. This strain has small to medium sized flowers that are coated in crystal trichomes. People favor Cornbread for treating nausea, improving appetite, and reducing pain.

HP-13
Hashplant #13 or HP-13 has flowers that are generously drenched in crystal trichomes–a beautiful sight for cannabis lovers to behold. HP-13 has a spicy and floral scent with notes of pepper and Anise. This strain is an indica-dominant hybrid with a short flowering period. Although HP-13 is a rare gem in the cannabis world and hard to come-by, it’s one of the strains we’re most excited about in 2017. The high from this coveted strain hits early and is recommended for treating anxiety, chronic pain, depression, headaches, nausea, and stress.
